He Can Do More Than We Ask!

He Can Do More Than We Ask!

jar of oil

When the widowed woman was obedient to Elisha’s instruction in 2 Kings 4, she had an abundance of oil left over for her and her sons to live on. The widow got more than she asked for. When Jesus fed the 5000 with just 5 loaves and 2 fish, there were 12 baskets left over! The disciples got more than they ever could have begun to imagine! It seems there’s a definite pattern here with God, for ‘He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…’. (Ephesians 3:20)

Sometime it’s hard to believe God for a big miracle. But the truth is, we can all believe God for a little at a time. The widowed woman in obedience, poured from her small jar of oil just a little at a time, until there was a house filled with vessels of oil. Jesus broke off a small amount of bread and a small amount of fish at a time and before long, everyone was filled with food. Just little, upon little, upon little, upon little, becomes eventually a BIG much!! But we must do our part first. The disciples had the 5 loaves & 2 fish, the woman had the small jar of oil and God took care of the rest bit by bit. This reflects our Christian walk. Trust him with the little things today; be spiritually disciplined now in every area of your life. Just one day at a time, little by little do your bit and He will cause miracles to happen in your life. You can believe for something that glorifies God today, you can do your part and your life will become His miracle of abundance.
