New Life

New Life

I have a very healthy frog pond in my backyard. In spring of last year the motor bike frogs were particularly active around it.  They flirted and called to one another with that distinctive motorbike sound as they sun baked on the rock, perched in the middle of the pond.  Before spring had finished, there was a host of tiny tadpoles swimming and eating the algae on the sides of the cool pool. These tiny tadpoles attracted much attention in my backyard.  It was with anticipation and excitement that I watched them grow.  Many, sadly, didn’t make it, and after a couple of months the number had dwindled down to about 10 big tadpoles. Then last week, finally, I saw this beautiful little creature crawling out of the water!  It was worth the wait!  Watching this whole transformation reminded me of just how great God’s creation is, and what a privilege it was to watch God’s creation birth new life. Similarly, as a minister, I watch God’s kingdom birth new spiritual life.  Anyone who says ‘yes’ to Jesus Christ are open to the opportunity of God transforming them into something beautiful. God is in the business of creating new life.  Jesus said, ‘…unless you are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God’ (John 3:3).   Allow God to do something great in you.
