BEAUTIFUL BLANKETS

BEAUTIFUL BLANKETS

Gwen

It has become a tradition at the Willetton Physiotherapy Clinic for patients who are waiting for treatment, to pick up wool and needles provided on the tables and knit.  It certainly helps pass the time quickly and it goes to a great cause!  The squares they make are taken by other “friends” of the Clinic and joined together to make blankets for the needy.  These “friends” also knit and crochet blankets, destined for those in need.

Recently the “Patients and Friends of Willetton Physio” generously donated over 45 blankets to Cityview Church for distribution to the elderly and residents of Windsor Park Nursing Home, next door to our Church.  What a beautiful culture they have created:  encouraging patients to help others, while they themselves wait to be helped.  And the “friends” have formed close bonds with each other through their mutual desire to help their less fortunate neighbours.

Isaiah 58:6-9 says:  “Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen…Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter – when you see the naked to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?  Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.  Then you will call and the Lord will answer, you will cry for help and He will say, Here am I”

May God richly bless the “Patients and Friends of Willetton Phsio” and all the recipients of their beautiful blankets!
